Think and Grow Rich is a motivational personal development and self-help book written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by a suggestion by Scottish-American businessman Andrew Carnegie. It was published in 1937 during the Great Depression. It remains the biggest seller of Napoleon Hillβs books, selling a claimed 30 million copies over the next 70 years (although Alice Payne Hackettβs 70 Years of Best Sellers suggests the figure was lower).
The text of Think and Grow Rich is founded on Hillβs earlier work The Law of Success, the result of more than twenty years of research based on Hillβs close association with a large number of individuals who achieved great wealth during their lifetimes. At Andrew Carnegieβs bidding, Hill studied the characteristics of these achievers and developed 15 βlawsβ of success intended to be applied by anybody to achieve success. Think and Grow Rich condenses these laws further and provides the reader with 13 principles in the form of a philosophy of personal achievement.
In every chapter of this book, mention has been made of the money-making secret which has made fortunes for hundreds of exceedingly wealthy men whom I have carefully analyzed over a long period of years.
